A Momentous Prize
Ailem'e
That cold and misty day... I will never forget come what may! The exact time... I was unable and unwilling to learn But the time was able and willing To show the tragic end of a term. I was only weeping and praying But also kissing his sweating face Yes... yes... yess... My father’s sweet face. My father who was also my sun Always shone on his beloved son. Our devotion to each other Led me into those happy days When he bought me that priceless prize There was also my mother’s happy cries On my leaving home for another home! That time I had asked for him to use That prize all the time as a sign of Our happiness and unity at all times. But no... no... noo..! Now I had seen it on his wrist Both of which got Shockingly inanimate. No sign of pulse, no sound of tick Until sending him off Feeling so sick. Since that day I have kept it Though not worn To enliven our endless love With which I was born. So my dad is dead but his live prize Has always been very high in price.
